Junior Member United States. Posts: 6 Threads: 1 Joined: Aug I have Windows 7 on my desktop. This has worked great for me.
For weeks I have been trying to get something to work. Both work and both show all my channels but neither show anything in TV guide.
Is there anything I can do to get a TV guide to work on my system?
Thank you, Bob. Posting Freak Ontario Canada. Posts: 34, Threads: Joined: May I understand Win7 is no longer supported but you are still using it. Thanks Martin. I hate windows 10 and will not use it. When I got my laptop for my shop I paid extra for Windows 7. Per your earlier suggestion I downloaded EPG I don't know how to set it up.
Very confusing. What is SD? Where do I get it? Is it as complicated?Junior Member.
Posts: 22 Threads: 5 Joined: May The xml file gets updated automatically by a batch file scheduled in Windows Task Scheduler. That part works, I am seeing the xml updated as expected. The whole programming schedule stays empty. Is there an easy way to fix or troubleshoot this? Posting Freak Ontario Canada. Posts: 34, Threads: Joined: May The first thing you need to troubleshoot is to make sure that sleep is configured properly, is not powered off and your PC is waking up to do updates. If it is awake it is almost always related to file permissions on the program used to download the xmltv file.
It's on a computer that never sleeps so that part should be ok. From what I can see, the files permission looks ok for reading. Just in case I changed the xml files permission to allow 'everyone' with 'full control'. Any log I could check to see some error messages? Posts: 95, Threads: Joined: Nov Zip and attach the logs and we'll check what happened. After closing NextPVR dialog and relaunching it, it updated the schedule.
But since I want the automatic update, I ran some tests and looked at the logs: 1- I changed the EPG update hour toexited NextPVR, reloaded it and waited until and did not see anything in the logs. Possibly in v4 - but after that, the EPG update will automatically happen at that time. You wont need to restart v5. DSperber Offline. Posts: 4 Threads: 1 Joined: Jan Works great.

I couldn't figure out how to add more than one city. View a Printable Version Subscribe to this thread. Linear Mode. Cable TV is a bit more complex. You may want to check with your local cable provider to see if their cable signal is encrypted. Head to the NextPVR home page and download the latest version. Start up NextPVR. Your TV tuner should show up in the list, possibly multiple times. This will take a few minutes. Click OK. The EPG should automatically update periodically after this. Again, the default is probably fine unless you have a good reason to change it.
Most TV tuners should work with that setup. Click the dropdown to see if you have any decoders available to you—you may already have some installed from other applications on your system. I, for example, had LAV decoders installed, so I chose this.
If your TV tuner came with any software, it may come with some decoders, so try installing that software, then returning to the Decoders page. You may have to do a bit of experimenting before you find the right set of decoders. This is not mandatory, but it is useful. Press OK when done. Adjust any other settings you want.
Select it, and you should see a list of all your channels. Scroll to the channel you want to watch, press Enter, and live TV should start playing right in Kodi. If you want to make your channel guide look a little nicer, you can even download logos for each of the TV channels and apply them in Kodi.
Those are all the basics. Scroll to the left to view the episode guide, or to view your list of recordings from the pop-out sidebar. Enjoy your new, even-more-fully-featured home theater PC! Just curious if anyone has has done it yet. Last edited by stuartm on Fri Jan 03, pm, edited 1 time in total.
I had complete success. My implementation progress is documented by a thread here on this forum. You might want to look at it. ALL content from cable provider Spectrum through cablecard-enabled Ceton tuners on a local monitor connected to the Win10 machine. But normal non-copy-protected files e.
I felt this was a very minor compromise and didn't consider it a deal-breaker. I took this approach because I did not want to deal with the difficulties of trying to get WMC to run "native Win10", which is totally unsupported.
Note that I also had a similar thread going on TenForumswhich you also might want to look at. I also had a thread on the VMWare forumasking a question about how to access the drives of native Win10 to programs running inside of Win7-VM i.
That thread would be very helpful to you if you were a newbie to VM as I was. But for non-copy-protected content, NextPVR is excellent. I know we're all familiar with and comfortable with WMC and its interface after so many years.
But NextPVR is really very similar But you can get used to it very easily. Its an excellent DVR, which is what's really important. And it uses Schedules Direct data, which makes it accurate as well. I've never really considered running Windows 7 on a virtual PC, mainly because it runs just fine on its own and I still have hardware that I can run it on. I didn't have much luck with the NVMe drivers though so I stuck with a standard 2.
I haven't put it into service yet because my current setup is running fine. It's basically there as a backup in case I ever need it. I know virtually nothing about VMWare no pun intended so I'll definitely check out the thread you pointed me to.On 24 SeptemberMicrosoft announced that they will retire their free electronic program guide service in January According to the announcement, in order to continue receiving TV Program Guide information on your Windows Media Center, you will need to configure an alternate TV listing provider.
There are only a handful of programs capable of providing guide listings to Windows Media Center, but none can match the richness, accuracy, reliability, and support provided by the combination of EPG and Schedules Direct. Australia and New Zealand are not yet supported. A Schedules Direct membership gives access to the wonderful guide data provided by Gracenote Nielsen for 53 countries.
Not only will the guide listings be accurate, but they will also contain the below:. Bet365 Vegas review Get App. Bet365 is another of the sports betting giants that has recently made the move into esports betting. With a solid selection of games and a very large selection of markets, it is one of the better sites to use for your esports betting needs if you like to cover multiple games. Bet365 does have a slightly unfriendly website design that appears to heavily use Flash, meaning that there are simpler options available.
All of the top esports titles are supported, mostly with many matches and more markets than most competitors. In-play betting is also supported, but only with limited matches and markets, and many in-play games have a lot of downtime on markets thanks to betting suspension. The site does, however, feature some solid welcome offers for new customers and it has a large amount of deposit and withdrawal options.
Much like many other competitors, the esports section of Bet365 is a part of the traditional sports betting section. While not a major focus, it receives better treatment than many sites and can easily be found.Stream Live TV over your wifi using your PC, NextPVR and Kodi
In order to place a bet, you must be logged into your Bet365 account. From the main sports betting page you must select esports from the menu on the side, which will bring up the main esports page. This will then display all the competitions that are available and the markets that are available for that competition. Irritatingly, individual matches are not shown on this page so you need to know what competition the match is a part of in order to find it.
Once you have selected the competition and the market from this page, you will be shown a page with all the available matches, and the teams that can be selected for your chosen market along with the odds. Clicking on the team you wish to bet on will add the bet to your bet slip, which is constantly available on the right hand side of the screen.
On the bet slip you can enter your stake, which will automatically display the potential return. Then when you are happy, you can click the place bet button to confirm and place your bet.
Placing a bet on this system is not as easy as it could be as there are a lot of steps to go through, and locating the specific match you are looking for requires some prior knowledge of the competition it will be in, or you will be searching for awhile. Once you get the hang of the system it becomes much easier, but it takes a bit to get used to.
